Currently in NYC — June 13, 2024: Very warm and sunny

The weather, currently. 

Not gonna lie. 86°F is not my favorite. It’s going to feel quite warm out there on Thursday so stick to the shade if you can. We’ll have dew points in the 60’s meaning it will start to feel uncomfortable, but not oppressive. I’ll take a win when I see one. The sun will rule the sky so don’t be shy with the sunscreen. The UV Index will be at an 11 or Extreme level so me and the shade will be well acquainted by the end of the day. Expect some gusty winds during the afternoon, too.

Heads up for next week, the NWS has placed NYC in a “moderate risk of excessive heat” for June 19th - June 21st. We’ll see how it plays out but the potential is there for a dangerous heat wave.
